Wiring a neon sign can seem intimidating, but if you take your time and follow a few basic steps you’ll find that anyone can do it. It’s important to keep in mind that neon is extremely fragile and that it must be handled gently. Also important is the electrical and mechanical connection between the transformer and the electrodes. Make sure that when you wire your neon sign you have the neon and transformer securely installed within 10 feet of each other, and the leads from the transformer are long enough to reach the electrodes on the neon. We always include the appropriate transformer(s) for the neon with a wiring diagram if there is more than one piece of neon, but for simplicity’s sake we demonstrate on a simple 1-unit neon sign.
The video below outlines an easy step-by-step guide to wiring your neon sign.
